Couple of things wrong with your post.
1. The GSL-SE never came stock with a header. What you're looking for is a manifold, and probably some of the monolythic convertors and an air pump.
2. Racing Beat does not sell exhaust parts which contain fiberglass. The RB stuff is always at an acceptible noise level and never annoying/too loud if installed correctly and with all the components (presilencer, primaflow muffler etc). Plus it lasts forever.
3. You're living in California. Need I say more?
Hopefully someone will sell you the parts to keep your car on the road.

yeah thats what i plan to do... have the muffler place just make some bolt on flanges so that i can put the stock stuff on momentarily... and then i can slap the racing beat exhaust and header after its written off... yeah i plan to leave the 2 pre-silencers but change the header and primo flow muffler back to stock... hopefully that will help or atleast be enough to get it written off...

Leave the header in place but remove the burnt-out RB presilencers and replace it at least 2 glasspacks on each pipe.
Your ticket is for loud exhaust so having the headers in place will not make any difference. As long as its quiet, they should sign off on it. Well, Im not sure if they popped your hood and got you for smog stuff violation also.
In my FB's, I have a fake and a real hood release hatch. The real one is hidden under the carpet. Im not poppling my hood for anyone. Besides, I have a full stock motor at home and it will only take a day to swap everything for smog inspection.

Yeah that's a really great idea... I wonder why I didn't think of that.
Heh tinted windows are different because he saw them already. He probably didnt see you driving down the road with your hood up. If he did you probably deserve that fix-it ticket

you don't think that changing the header and exhaust will be enough to get it to pass??? i don't have to go thru smog inspection thank god... but i do have to make it A LOT more quiet. i've had my RB Exhaust set-up for years and i kno it eventually burns out... but in this case what is the best possible solution??? should i leave the header or put a stock manifold? should i replace the RB pre-silencers? i'm almost positive my RB rxhaust is burnt out... it's all right.... only solutions... thanks guys

what exhaust should i put on with what size tubing... now remember i just need it quiet not for preformance... if i can get both the quietness and the performance that'd be sweet but i just need it as silenced as i can get it... in whatever way possible... no engine swapping... my buddy said put a turboII but i don't have enough dinero and time for all that

I passed CA noise emissions testing with my RB muffler, and its the louder streetport version.Just because the officer "feels" its too loud, doesnt mean it will be too loud.I took it to the refferee,he tested it with a db meter at right angles from 18" at 4000rpm and it passed...under 94db.I took the cert. to the courts and the judge signed it off and dropped the ticket.
I keep my noise cert, smog cert and window tint cert right next to the regs and insurance.I show them if it becomes an issue, and I never get hasseled afterwards.
If you get cleared on the noise ticket, keep a copy with you for next time.Noise pollution tickets are notoriously one-sided and are given at the officer's discretion. The reff said that about 90% of the cars he tests for noise tickets, are legal by CA standards....you dont have to pay the $75 ticket if you pass, but to get tested costs $35,so they make their money either way.

what modes do you have to your car??? or to the exhaust system??? do you just have a RB muffler with everything else stock??? the sleeves that go in the exhaust port of my motor are removed due to rebuilding and porting which makes it even louder.
