Still on the water sensor location

ok, here is what i was thinking about tapping. its the piece right after the thermostat opening, which would probably not see a fully accurate temp until it opens but thats when i need to really know the temp anyway. so can anyone see any drawbacks? the sensor will stick into the flow but i don't think it will really hinder it much. my only other concern is that the aluminum walling isn't super thick, approx. .155". any suggestions?

That's weird... on my car that part actually has a bung on it.

Anyway, if I was you I'd just pull the water pump housing so you can drill and tap the choke sensor location. It's a minor pain in the *** but you might as well do it properly. Plus, you don't actually have to seperate the pump from the housing. You just pull it off as one piece.

i'm avoiding that like the plague. mike seems to think we'll still find an adapter. i'm trying to nab another sensor from someone so i can drill and tap it and turn it into an adapter. you're invited to come stateside and work on that for me though.
