Sterling and other with eaton bad news
WEll i got my eaton running yesterday what can i say this thing was incredible note it was not not in tune and barley getting enough fuel but it ran but then it happend. i lost the boost pressure i thought **** shut it down. pulled the eaton off and there was the bad news gasoline it mass quanity will eat through the protective coating on the teeth reall quick so i have an eaton 89 with a few tech missing and a 79 engine with a few teeth form an eaton in it some where. wonder if they will come out the exhaust well sterling now i have to go your way or go to roots. here is the good news i gotta dirve it a few miles with it running good boost hold on this **** was crazy granted i have no tach exhaust or and gauges in the car. it was fast than my street port ever thought and it ate my friend cougar with a 305 on alchol ***. he runns low 12 and high 11 and it straight up slapped him by about 2 car lengths. then i started to loose boost so i think 40% is not nearly enough credit. i figured it gave me well over 200 on a stock 12a note the carb was not tunned and i was running 2 stroke. by the way plan on going to a big holey another problem with my idea we realized after it died was that we were not spearate the different ports form the carb to the intake it mixes it all up so the shutter valve must be removed or else it will build up fuel on top when de accerelating but back the drawing bored wonder how long the 79 motor will run with the motor shavings.

sounds cool. however, stop drinking and posting man. my decoder ring is broken and my head now hurts. seems if it ate the teeth off then it will incinerate them pretty quickily.
sorry i am at wrok and rushing to type so i can get back to work. and it was a long night. and i hate punciation.

Well I got my eaton running yesterday. What can I say this thing was incredible note it was not in tune and barley getting enough fuel but it ran. And as always it happend. I lost the boost pressure I thought **** shut it down. Pulled the eaton off and there was the bad news. Gasoline in mass quanity will eat through the protective coating on the teeth. Really quick so i have an eaton 89 with a few teeth missing and a 79 engine with a few teeth from an eaton in it some where. Wonder if they will come out the exhaust??
Well sterling now I have to go your way or go to a roots blower. Here is the good news I gotta dirve it a few miles with it running good boost. Hold on this **** was crazy granted I had no tach, exhaust or any gauges in the car. It was faster than my street port ever thought about being and it ate my friend's cougar ,with a 305 on alchol ***. He runns low 12 and high 11 and it straight up slapped him by about 2 car lengths. Then I started to loose boost. I think 40% is not nearly enough credit. I figured it gave me well over 200 on a stock 12a. Note: The carb was not tunned and I was running 2 stroke. By the way plan on going to a big holey another problem with my idea we realized after it died. Was that there was no way to spearate the different ports from the carb to the intake it mixes it all up. So the shutter valve must be removed or else it will build up fuel on top when de-accerelating. So it is back the drawing board.
Also it made it very hard to keep an idle. It would rev wildly. Wonder how long the 79 motor will run with the motor shavings?
Does this read better??

Really. If the teeth he means are the cogs that spin the rotors, they're supposed to be encased in their own sealed and lubed home, well separated from the fuel/air mixture being ingested by the SC. How the hell did raw fuel get in there? Even the relief tube is supposed to be shielded from seeing anything but open air. Waddup?
Hey guys play nice.
After calling magnum power sports they inform me " there is never to be any fuel run through the charger" ooops. I am currently waiting to find my tv card so I can change the vhs tape of the install and first few runs. I have a bad feeling for the turbo guys when sterling gets done. Hell I need to hear from him so I can quickly get work on putting the 112 on car on a blowthrough. I'm telling you this setup can be mean. I can't beleive it worked note need a cheap inter cooler use a yugo radiator!! j/k maybe not you will have to wait to see. Sorry about the earlier rants but i was at work exhausted and frustraited. I mean I did just toast a not too cheap charger. Glad that was one of freebies form the junkyards. Well i need to sleep tonight talk to you later. Hopefully I will get picks posted this week but it depends on work.

From: Trying to convince some clown not to put a Holley 600 on his 12a.
I just got in the door from a Santana concert (Awesome) and now I'm getting stoned at the keyboard.
But have no fear, gentlemen, for not only do I not drive while wasted, but I also am able to type practicing grood gammer and punktuation!
I am very disappointed!
I'm disappointed that you did not bother to PM me that you got it on there! And then you went and blew it up, and NOW you wanna talk to me!
First off, though I had expressed concern about fuel going thru the blower, it had not even ocurred to me the the fuel might eat off the teflon paint! I was more concerned about the front seals.
Second, I don't think blowing some soggy paint chips has done much damage to your engine. You will know soon enough, and if everything seems fine right now and it goes BANG! anytime soon, I would blame the paint chips it ate.
If it were mine, I would not drive it if possible, and do an ATF soak for 24 hours. Then the driving would be nice and easy for 100 miles.
Yer blower however, is fuct. There's no telling how thick the build-up of sticky paint got on the lobes without taking her apart. But the fact that you lost pressure tells us all it's not pretty.
I don't understand this line:
"Well sterling now I have to go your way or go to a roots blower."
That is a roots blower. Not only that, but I'm thinking it was not the M-90 you thought. I have an M-90 from a T-bird Supercoupe that has no coating, and an M-62 from a Pontiac that does have it.
So you can still do what you wanted all along. You just gotta find the right Eaton model.
And BTW, you're really lucky that's all you lost. Sounds a bit like you pretty much slapped it on there to see if it would work without making the other necessary compensations on the engine.
Why don't you pop open that blower, and see if you can get it cleaned up.
Heh...Ya know, just soak in some gas!
It's all aluminum, so you have to be careful with it. But maybe you'll find it siezed just enough for the belt to slip, but not enough to thoroughly **** it.
Should'nt take you long, and you'll know right away if it's good! (Keep the hood down.
)
You just take out the bolts at the front, and slide the rotors out of the housing. Then you find nuts that will fit the bolts - You only need four. You need very clean and flat flat-washers, too. You have to use the four bolts and nuts to keep snout shut tight. Be very careful not to marr the inside part!!!

Ok, I am also considering a street ported supercharged engine...I know the eaton blowers are quite common, and apparently abundant, but I was wondering what all has to be done for one of these bad asses? I mean, I looked at the setup atkins rotary had, the intake manifold, blower, and carb. Looks easy enough for me...Right? I mean, what all is involved in this? Can I just got to a junk yard, find a blower, make some manifolds and throw it on there?

ROTOR MOTOR this project is not simple and may evolve into a somplete life around super chargers.
Sterling I pulled her apart and the lobes look like 300 year old stone artifacts. Chipped, busted and useless. When i lost boost it looks like the blower locked up due a build up of chips inside. When i puled her apart it looked like the inside of my friends stock distributor after rev a 302 up to 7800. It was full metal peices and Fuct. Well now i need top try and beat you at your own game.

...And the engine; Comment c'est?
Find a blower with no coating. My Bird Supercoupe blower came with piping that shows me that the throttle body was before entry...IE, it's set up to have fuel pass thru her.
Fuct inside, eh?
Do you have any idea what the pulley ratio was that you used?
Any pics of the blower?
