stereo instalation

Hey im installing a cd player to replace the cassette player but want some input or advice on where would be best, like if i should take appart the center panel and install there or install in say the glovebox to keep the classic look?

Any advice and pics of your setups would be great!
Thanks

In the glove box will make changing cds a bit difficult. My Alpine is in the stock location. Although I wouldn't recommend the type of bracket I had made. It was very expensive, and a waste of my money.

if you want to keep the stock system to give it a stock look, you can buy a "stereo box" that can be mounted under the dash (glove compartmetn). then control the radio/cd with a remote control

I simply mounted a CD changer behind the seat and kept all of the original radio/stereo components intact and usable.

Test light is all you need ^

Or

You can go through the factory wiring diagrams, or do a search!

I had another CD player just above the defroster switch and lamp switch on the center console, useless since the face was gone. Installed a Pioneer in the same place and kept the stock radio in there for now...

Anyways, it should be fairly easy. Just get a test light and factory wiring dagram and hook it up.

Oh! and make sure you do your ACC wire properly. The crack head who installed teh previous stereo decided that routing the ACC wire from my Emissions Control Unit would be a great idea. Just fixed that this weekend... >.<

Anyways, your ACC wire plus into the Wiper Fuse on your fuse box; just to give you a tip. :P
