Steering Wheel Replacement

I've been considering replacing the steering wheel on my 85 GS, but I can't seem to find any hubs that will fit.

I think I saw somewhere that a 1st generation Miata uses the same hub but don't remember where I saw it.

What do ya'll recommend for a hub?

yeah i think the early miata one and the sa-fb are the same. FC is a slightly different offset, it'll go on, but horn and turn signal thingees dont reach any more

I have one for a VW golf MK5 I haven't got around to seeing if it will fit or not. eyeballing it looks close, but its probably a hair off. If not I'll just make one out of both the MK5, and the stock piece. It would look better anyway. BTW is Grant a good steering wheel or not? Looks alright.

imo the cheap ebay chinese wheels are better than grants, and usually less expensive

well its free, so if i don't like it. who cares. I'm also getting a recaro driver seat from a VW corrado, just need to get the passenger side, or just go with no seat..... You think I can get away with a 5 point harness, strapping a passenger to the floor???

grant isn't metric, so the fit on the splines could be better, ive had one get screwed up before.

Miata hub is interchangeable, but sits ~1" closer to the driver.

The cheap eBay ones are a little too cheaply made, in my opinion. They flex quite a bit.

i bought my grant hub from pep boys ($20). if you are putting a grant, get the hub that fits all models. it works with no problems.

I've seen Grant on Ferraris. I did the basic 3-spoke on one of my 7s. Have a Dino mahogany on the other.
