Steering lift

Gday maties.

I really really really need a bloody quick answer.

My car got safety inspected today.

Its got that steering problem

The one where you pull on the steering wheel and the bloody thing comes out, I really really really want the car on the road. I know there is information out there on this problem, but for the life of me I can't find the correct threads, I find threads on this forum talking about this other great thread with a great writeup, BUT I WOULD be very happy If someone could please post in here the correct link.

I know this is a repost, but I'm sorry.

I think I have rotary fever

i have the same problem, and if I remember correctly the only solution was to replace the steering column.

If theres a better way than replacing the column, please let me know,

Are the 4 bolts that hold it in place (steering column) attached properly? If they are missing I could see how it would slide out.

There is an article / thread around somewhere about drilling a hole through the outer column down by the petals and putting in a aluminum rivit or something similar into the actual shaft. IIRC. It's been a while since I've been on here. The problem is the sheer pin has been sheered correct? Good Luck.

I had the same problem. I think it was a bushing in the colume. It was so long ago I don't remember.
