Static timing,
Before i try it, i thought i would ask you's guys if it's the same way as a piston engine. TDC, on #1,spark plug in boot on engine, key on, turn the dist. untill i see spark.
On the rotory is it leading or trailing,,,sounds stupid, but
i'm just not sure. and on the front rotor ????? Thanks

I just stick the distributor in the hole making sure the dimple in the drive gear is indexed with the little pointer on the distributor, and then taking note of the prior marks from the hold-down nut, I intentionally retard the timing a bit for safety and easier starting. Once I've got it started, then I use the timing light to finish. That way I don't have to pull any plugs or wires.
