how to time a engine with the crank pulley messed up.

I think my engine needs to be timed, it backfires on hard, fast shifts (although it still has a airpump, but no cats). The problem is that when I removed my water pump I removed the AC and crank pulley not thinking of the timing marks. How can I fix this. I have timed a V8, is a rotasy much harder.

Any performance timing specs would be appreciated.

when you have the pulley off, if possible, look and see where the key way is for the front hub.( you may have to remove the front bolt) treat the keyway slot as 9 O'CLOCK!!. the yellow mark should be at 12 o'clock. boom - top dead center

Yelp!!!!! The key way pointing at 9 o clock is dead right on the yellow (leading) timing mark... If you didnt take the pulley apart, then you should have to worry about timing issues. The 12A pulleys will let you put them together wrong, but the 13b pulley wont But also noticed as a side point of interest, the 13b and 12A pulleys when slid on the shaft, have different timing marks

Oh by the way if you dont have cats why do you have an air pump? Sounds like to me, that the ACV valve is the problem. Toss both of them, remove the air pump and make a blocking plate for the ACV. Or you can get one from Mazdatrix or Racing Beat in the Racing section...
