Starting engine rebuild *PICS*

Not going to meet, sorry. I have other obligations.
How cheap is super cheap? I don't have the paper handy, it's a week out of date anyway, but it was either $200 or $400. I saw many 280ZX's that were interesting and in the low three figures range, so my memory is a bit foggy.
But on the plus side, there are two neat cars that I told my friend he should look at. One, that caught his eye, was an '82 BMW 733i. For three figures. One, that caught my eye, was an '84 Nissan Maxima. For the same price. Difference being, the Maxima is essentially a stretched 280ZX chassis, and it has a long-stroke L24 engine to compare/contrast with the L24 in his 240Z. Kind of a Datsun/Datsun thing...
The hard part about looking for a car for a friend, is finding all the neat stuff that you personally want. Next year, maybe.

The '82, the 733i, or the Maxima?
I spent some time working on a 280ZX recently. NEAT cars, even though they're porky cars, compared to the OTZ (One True Z) they're still smaller than a 1st-gen, much of the additional weight is convenience features, they have the wheelbase of a Miata, and have something no RX-7 has: Headroom! (For those who've never met me in person, I need headroom. ) UNbelievable headroom. Sit upright with a helmet on and still have clearance headroom. Wowness.
So, while the L series stuff is nice, I still think that a 12A could sit between the crossmember and the firewall, and I'd someday like the opportunity to find out, since my friend is *definitely* staying L24 for his Z.
