Stall Converter

Does anyone have any experience with a higher stall converter in their auto trans?

You probably won't find anything about this cause nobody bothers with the auto tranny's with a rotary. In the 4 years I've been on this forum, there are only a handfull of times I ever saw anyone even mention any information about the auto tranny on a rotary.

Do a search using member wecycle. He found a link to an Australian site that supplied some after market parts for the A/T.

I know that you can by adapters to bolt a Mustang trans into our cars.

Maybe a modified stock or after market Mustang auto.

That would probably be a C-4, maybe a C-6 if that's the case. Interesting...

auto trans

For drags I would lean toward an A518 (46RH) MOPAR. It is based on the bulletproof 727 Torquflite but has a 0.68 OD.

Most af the reasonably quick cars (not useing clutchless manuals), use GM's Powerglides, only two speed but just about any tranny builder can make one work and they are decent in price with a reasonable selection of 1st gear ratios and lots of torque converter choices... they also need the least amount of hp to run them... a TH 350 would be ok but hp loss is little higher and a rotary would be hard pressed to make enough hp to use a GM TH400 effectivly because of hp losses just to turn it...
Oh and yes you can get hi-stall converters made, but be ready to shell out $650 plus... just about any decent aftermarket converter manuf will do one but $$$... and I run a reprogrammed auto in my 2nd gen... shifts great, lots of tire noise... just get tired of getting out and pushing from the light to launch it
