79 GS weights

Hey guys I just weighed my 79 GS,and here is what I got.

LF--710 lbs
LR--580 lbs
RF--570 lbs
RR--580 lbs

These are with full tank of fuel,no driver, and rear seats.

Here are the weights with my 260 lb *** in the car

LF--805 lbs
LR--690 lbs
RF--585 lbs
RR--620 lbs

Why is the LF so heavy?Battery? Not 100+ lbs I wouldn't think.

Chris

A groups size 24 is 40 pounds. The narrower group size 25 that I've seen in some 1st gens probably weighs slightly less.

I should have mentioned this is a Optima red top battery, and the car is a base GS without AC,or moonroof. It does have the rear seat which is pretty heavy, but I am wondering why the LF is so heavy. This car also has the factory exhaust removed, and the Racing Beat long primary dual exhaust system on it complete with header. No smog equipment either.

the left front always ends up being heavier i still havent figured it out it could have something to do with the face that its a Japanese car and what originally made to be right hand drive our cars were made to have 50/50 weight balance

That sounds like a good theory...

If you think about it a little bit, then it kind of makes sense. Shouldn't the front left side be a little heavier because of the steering crap? That must be like another forty or fifty pounds plus the battery and stuffs?
