Unhappy Squeaking from transmission??

So the past couple days every time I let off the clutch the transmission or something in that general area squeaks. Its not fun. I know my brake pads are bad but I don't believe its them squeaking. Really have no clue what might be causing it and its starting to bother me. Anyone have any ideas??

In one of my cars, the lever right at the clutch pedal squeaks. Can you tell whether it's in the car or outside?

Does it sound like the pedal squeaking or does it sound like it is coming from under the car like in the area of the clutch, possibly a bad throwout bearing.

yes my pedal squeaks too, this is louder and most definitely from outside the cockpit. last owner replaced throw out bearing so I would hope it isn't bad yet.

Only 2 things it could be , pilot bearing or a throw out bearing. Also be sure it isnt a belt squeaking, but you said it does it when the trans is in neutral, push the clutch in it goes away? If so its the throw out bearing, my 88 vert does it, and my 85 did it too before the SWAP. It will be ok, probally will go away in warm weather, my cars always did it when it got cold

U might also want to check the drive shaft universal joint there at the tranny. It will also make squeeking noises too. I had one go bad one time.

Yeah, we need to know when it does it. Clutch in, clutch out, standing still, only when moving? Also, as rxtasy3 said, I too had the front U joint go out on my car that I could have sworn was clutch bearing related.

If you have the noise with vehicle not moving, engine off, it will be clutch related. You can pop the slave cylinder off and put a big gob off grease on the ball that touches the release bearing fork. It could also be squeaking from the ball pivot inside the trans that the fork snaps on to, which means pulling the tranny. Annoying but not dangerous.

Only when driving. Only when letting the clutch out, or when letting of the gas at mid to high speeds, or when the engine is trying to catch up with the tranny when you downshift.
