Spent all day installing new springs to drop her but...

It lifted her up instead of dropping her down....Hmmm I going to have to just cut the springs down. Anyone else have this problem with Racing Beat springs?

the reason you didn't see a drop was because the stock springs were probably sagging already.. I'd give em some time to settle in and let the weight of the car press them down a little before cutting..

I bets its cause your stock springs if they are stock were sagging because there 20+ years old so the springs lifts the car instead of dropping the car. Oh ya, don't cut the springs, that will screw them up.

Well I'm going to go for a spin and hopefully it will drop a bit. I sat nicer before with the stock springs.

That depends on which springs he has. Some springs have a few dead coils which are meant for cutting, to get the desired height.

IIRC though, RB springs aren't that type.

It definately didn't corner better with saggy springs..

My FC did the same thing. i put Eibachs on and (and took off my 100K plus mile stockies) it actually got a little higher. You'll be stoked on the stiffness and handling.

if they are progressive rate springs cutting will just give you problems unless you just plan on looking at the car but if you liek driving through turns dont cut them. Unless of course you contact RB to see if they do have any dead coils

What do you want, looks, or handling? At some point, the handling degrades because there is not enough spring travel. Give the springs some time to settle in before cutting.

i dunno man, dont wanna look like a truck... id say slam it.. at least cut 1. coil even if that does sag its not gonna look good... but as they say be careful with the progressive if thats what you have.. but you can always cut the other side..

one thing im doing when i put coilovers on mine is raising the mounts (mounting the camber plates above the strut towers so that i dont lose spring travel... ( yea i know coilovers adjust lots, but mines for fc subframe swap so its a bit different...

iether way make it just above the hight you really want innitally... usually springs dont sag far.. and they dont sag at all if theyre used...

I have a set of RB springs, but I haven't installed them yet. I'll take measurements before/after to compare to my 200+ mile springs. Adding Illumina struts to the front too.

Drive it for a few weeks, it'll settle. It IS almost an inch drop from stock IF your stock springs weren't sagging.

It fits nice on my car, but my car doesn't look "slammed".
