Sparks and Flame
I jumped into my Rx7 today for a short drive. But it ended up being shorter than I thought it would be. About 2 blocks from my house my engine cut out and I didn't make it any further. At first I just thought I didn't let it warm up like it should and it just needed to be babied a minute. So I waited a minute and then started cranking it. The starter was working fine but I didn't feel like I was getting any fuel. So I started looking around the carbs, all of my fuel lines were fine but I still couldn't get anything. After looking around I noticed that my ground cabel to the battery was very loose, so I tightened that up and then looked into my fuses and one of them was blown (20 amp, engine). So I replaced it and drove half way home and burned another fuse. I started looking around my stero and wireing to see if anything was grounding out, but everything seemed fine. So I am wondering if the loose battery cable is causing my problem, or if there are any other common causes that I could look at.

Welcome to the forum. I can't tell you for sure that the battery cables are your issue, but it's always a very good place to start. They can cause a lot of problems as they age.

Man last weekend something like this happened to me. EXCEPT......when i turned the key to ACC everything went on...and as soon ans i turned the key to crank the engine everything SHUT OFF!! EVERYTHING DID! No lights, no horn, no anything!!! COMPLETE BLACKOUT in my car. I was like WTF!?!?!? I checked all the fuses and NONE were blown. Well turns out there was ALOT of crosion on the batery terminals. After i cleaned the battery up she was fine. I'll tell ya even if it one SMALL *** thing with this car and she freaks! lol oh well i love her!
