spark plugs

ok going by the owners manuel the standard ngk plugs for my 85 GSL-SE is BR8EQ14 but going by any parts store they wont work they say to use BR9EQ14. which ones are the correct ones to use or what did they come with from the factory? it has crap autolites in it now. thanks for the help.

the 8 or 9 is the heat range, 9 is colder, so its fine.

ok, i had ordered a set of the 8s for it but didnt know if it be too hot for the efi 13b, thats the only thing i could figure the parts store said it wouldnt work? lol it wouldnt be the first time a parts store didnt know what they were talking about though.

8's work fine but i have an upgraded ignition so i personally run br7"s in the lead and br8's in the trail but thats just me.

There's virtually no difference between the plugs - you won't notice the heat range difference really.

Someone once explained to me that, in a broad sense, you use the BR8s if you do more city driving, BR9s if you do more highway driving. Both will work without issues.

And truthfully, anything is better than the Autolite ones.

If you're older than the guy at the counter and he asks how many cylinders your RX-7 has, I don't know how much I would trust his advice.

The BR8EQ14 is what my manual recommends, too.

on a stock car this is correct, but if you put together some combination that needs tuning the autolites are great. for example i went thru 3 set of autolites tuning the P port, @2.99 a plug this was no problem at all, its about the same price as 1 Rx8 spark plug.

lol its pretty funny when they think they know all about it then ask if its a 4cyl most of the time i mess with them and say something stupid like yeah and can you order me a set of push rods.
