Spark plugs

I bought some BR8EQ14's from RockAuto for a stick port 12A but I'm reading conflicting things online , some one told me the trailing shoukd be different from leading. When i changed the plugs on my car two years ago I used BRE8's on all four.

I've never used anything but BR8EQ14s, in the 80's and now.

I figured. That's what I remember using and what I had read here but I went to napa and they said stock was BR7 and my friend said i needed BR9 leading and BR8 trailing but BR9 doesn't even seem to be made any more. Sigh..

My recollection of the difference between the BR7/8/9 is temperature range. If the current BR8's are light brown/grey and don't have carbon build up or aren't melted, then you are fine.

the 12A used the BR8EQ-14 all the way around. the GSL-SE used BR9EQ's which is a step colder. if you drive hard, its not a bad idea

The owners manual for my 1985 13B does not recommend using the Hot Type BR7EQ14 on cars with the EGI systems. The standard plug is BR8EQ14 and the cold is the BR9EQ14, I used the cold plug for the thirteen years when I was in CA and FL because It was mostly highway driving at high speeds for me. I switched to the standard BR8EQ14 in 2007 when I moved to Indianapolis and have never experienced any fouling of either plug types when I was using them. There is a mention in the manual that if you are experiencing fouling of spark plugs due to excessive low speed operation like city driving they recommend switching to the hot BR7EQ14. Then again they don't recommend the hot plug for EGI equipped cars either.

I adjusted my idle speed / fuel mix a few months back (it was idling high). Yesterday I pulled my plugs for a quick inspection. See attached. Looks good to me but would welcome feedback. Plugs are NGK BR8's. Car is bone stock 12A. Thanks.

Look good to me, a "coffee" brown burn look on a spark plug is considered to represent a "good" air/fuel mixture was what I was taught.

Original plugs for my 79 RX7

New old guy here, I bought the first RX7 in my town in 1979, and as such the dealer was my only source of plugs for a while. Here's what they were. Long story short I ended up with the dealer supply after he went belly up.

I think you misunderstood my post. I'm the seller on Ebay and the plugs are nos. I just didn't want anyone to think I was trying to sell something in a post.
