spark plug wire placement

there are 2 short and 2 long, what is the placement? short to leading or trailing or vice versa?

I have the two shorter wires going to my trailing (top) plugs and the two longer wires going to my leading (lower) plugs, as I recall.

It doesnt really matter as long as they are hooked up to the correct terminals on the distributor, just hook them up so they fit...
