Hey guys, I am new to rotaries and I would like to know what do you guys think about the condition of this 12a that I bought some months ago and is still laying on the ground.

I am gathering all the stuff to swap that 12a into my '79 toyota starlet .

Anyways I read that if the sounds does not stop and alternates between the rear and front rotor means that the engine is fine, right? hehe

sounds like you need to put sprak plugs in it then do the test. you are looking for 6 compression pulses out the exhaust ports. So if you turn the eccentric shaft over 3 full rotations and get 6 pulses for every half rotation then the motor should be in good shape. Also inspect the apex seal through the exhaust ports and ensure they have some spring to them too.

 

Someone needs to lube the bed springs. Sounds good so far.

 

BAHAHA... If that didn't sound like a howler monkey, then I must be crazy. With the shaking of the camera all around, I assumed I was watching a camera mounted to a monkey's back as it jumped around the 12A.
