Unhappy could my 12a be blown?

well today all i did was mess around with the retard timing and carb settings then all of a sudden the idle starts bouncing and making a sound like a bridge ported 12a.
anyways it just does sound right.
it starts up just fine but the idle sounds weird.
my guess is that something in the ignition might be messed up but im not sure.
heres some specs...1980, 12a stock port, MSD coils, accel wires, camden supercharger, holley 390 carb.
also what are the signs of a blown engine?

Check your igniter's (SP?), try switching them around to see if the problem goes away. If this solves it you need to replace one of them. I have some for sale if that is the case.

hmm ill try that.
i was also wondering if this could be related to the carb because it started to happen when i was messing around with the idle mixtures screws.

And you were 'Messing around with the timing and idle mix because"?

Ron Propeil said it best. "Set it and forget it."

Without more detail as to how it ran before adjustments were made, a current audio clip, diagnosing your problem is near impossible. Do the usual checks. Timing, plug wire orientation, plugs are clean, cap, rotor and ignition wires are are secure, yada yada yada.

Being 'less' descriptive' helps also.

probably the idle mixture screw on the metering block. you can make an engine lope with a Holley carb playing around with the idle mixture

try turning the idle screw out. It sounds like you have it set on the rich side. let it idle and then turn the mixture screw. should start idling smoother

the big one is for the idle. the ones on the metering block is for the air/ fuel mixture. the 390 Holley doesn't have a metering block with air/ fuel adjustmnt screws on the secondary side. Unless you have a different Holley carb than the one you mentioned having.

oahu? I thought the Hawaiian Raceway Park is on that island? By Germains' Luau. I went to Oahu for vacation and went to Germains' luau and passed by the racetrack. So afterwards we stopped by to check out the night racing that was happening there. You ever hear of a guy named Kyle Masuoka? I remembered he was making aftermarket parts for the rotary engine somewhee in Hawaii. Well hope it's running better

Sucks; just read that Hawaii Raceway Park got closed down. But I also read that they want to preserve it. Doesn't look good though. Looks like another strip lost.

i think i might know kyle the name sounds familiar. but yea HRP closed down there is a new track being planned right now but it is still sketchy. there is a track on maui but its too much of a hassle to go over there.
the seven is running much better now. haha hopefully the track will be built by the time i am completely finished with the car.
