Some Suggestions for me please

Well if all goes well I will be getting some funding from grassroots motorsports to make my car a project of theirs... not sure if it will all go through but if it does... what do you think I should do to my car?

I was thinking something along the lines of a 13bt swap and some suspension and exhaust upgrades, anything really cool I should know about that would be a bit different from all the other modded rx7's?

-btw- this would all be the help of one of my friends over at car and driver who is in contact with the grassroots staff...

thanks in advance

My advice? Don't... Grassroots is quickly selling out and becoming more and more like the publications they used to abhor, namely, Car and Driver, Automobile, etc...

Doesn't seem that way to me at all....non one else posts as much racing news as they do and Ro-Spit comes back every so often to tease us...

True.. but look at the cars they are testing... I'm sorry... but dropping $16k for a Civic is far from my vision of grassroots... and on top of that, look at the recent article "budget" supercars.. the third gen '7 is listed as one.. who in this forum would truthfully look at a third gen and see a budget-type car? That is my point.. it may change now, slightly.. they've pilfered British Car and turned it into their own little DuPont Registry, so some of the snobbery might wash out...

The engine in long block (ie all the manifolds, accesories, etc.), used usually go for around $3000-4000. You could do the entire swap for around 15k-25k, thats with about everthing from rebuild, smallish single turbo, tranny, rear-end, ecu, etc. and would be an easy 500 Hp. Of course the sky is the limit with this engine, I know that you can get 800+ Hp from it with the right turbo and tunning.

Keep your eye out for them on E-bay, or try some j-spec engine importers, like fc3s.org and corksport.com among others.
