So i take off my gear speedo line from the trans, only to find another problem

i listened to the forum and got it lifted from the rear. take out the speedo gear and notice that it looks fine. Then i think man those guys on the forum were right about it not leaking by jacking it from the front. then i start to see these black/dark brown globs of trans fluid dripping down. So i say to my self " are you f in kidding me"!!!!!! What part of change every fluid in the car dosent a rx7 mechanic understand..... I especially remember telling him" the car sat for a very long time change everything. Only to add another item to the list of what he failed to change out

he forgot to change the oil
he forgot to change the trans fluid
and instead of getting me a new rear end all he had to do was fill that too...

It was so globbed up that it didnt even soak into the floor.... its been 30min and its still in the same shape.

Anyway im off to Walmart to get trans fluid. It is 90wt right?

Yep, 90W. Some folks say you need to spend lots of money and buy really expensive gear oil (red line, stuff like that) not sure if it makes that much difference.

Generally speaking, PO's are not reliable sources for information about a car you bought from them.

I use the Royal Purple synthetic and it works great plus its a synthetic. I also use it
in my rear end as well.

Whenever I'm doing any kind of major trans work (replacing one or something) I'll always get the cheapest gear oil possible and run it for a while, that way if it leaks I'm not risking it leaking the expensive oil. After a few hundred miles I'll swith to Redline MTL and it always makes a notable difference. You should give it a shot!

Exactly why you should do your own work if possible. Do it right, do it once.

Synth will probably make the seals leak if they're old.
