So I had quite the scary time...

I was driving home on a busy road with lots of stop go traffic. Then I all of a sudden hear a pinging noise like a piece of metal bouncing behind me onto the road. And of course right after that, I feel the right front brake just pumping in and out like crazy, making a horrible knocking noise.

After I pulled over and inspected the damage, I had a tow truck called and had it towed to where I could assess the damage. I lost a brake caliper bolt and the caliper must have swung out and started smacking the inside of the rim. Luckily no true damage was done apart from losing a bolt. I'll share some pictures of the rim if y'all would like.

And, last week, my passenger front outer brake pad cracked in half and fell out of the caliper.

Bad month for 1st gen brakes indeed. On the plus side, it gave me a good excuse to do the rotors, bearings and pads.

When you do your brakes just bite the bullet and replace everything at once,
rotors, pads, rebuilt calipers, and bearings. Replace hoses every 5 or so years.

Unless you like flaky or failing brakes. Don't tell me you can't afford it because these
are 3)= year old cars and you knew that coming into the game. It costs to play.

Oh no. But I can't afford it all at once so every check I have put money aside to get replacement everything so soon I won't be driving my coffin around just my average sports car.

The parts to do the entire front brakes (rotors/pads/caliper rebuild kit/hardware/hoses) wasn't even that expensive. I think it was ~100 for the parts. Unfortunately, since I live in the great white north, it was another ~100 to ship it. Blerg.

Yeah well I have a house now and a wife so first expense then the general bills and other such debts are first unfortunately so I'm usually left with like $30 to spend each month and not only that my wife insists on remodeling a perfectly good house.

Man I need to get single again before my job got me what I wanted but now it's not enough guess I will just be happy lol. Oh and because I have more then brakes to do so I have to order more then just those need some shocks. Bushings and various other accesories needed.
