1. Clean the insides of the switches. Make sure you don't loose any parts. There aren't many, just be careful.

2. Grease the mechanisms. It's amazing how atrified something will get after 20+ years.

3. Do a search for power windows. There is a thread on here somewhere talking about putting relays in the power window circuits. As they are wired straight through the switch from the factory. Thus limiting the available power to drive them.

I would check the contacts in the switches, make sure all the moving parts in the regulators are greased. It could be that the motors are getting worn out also. Check the first two.

Smash out your windows, instead of rolling them down. Takes 2 seconds, instead of 5.

I've dealt with this problem myself, so I know how irritating it is. I haven't done the relay thing yet though.

Good luck,
Brian

Lubricate the channels with silicone spray. Makes a big difference.

My windows are real slow also. The main problem with mine is the track. I need to replace the gasket felt stuff (whatever it is made of). The felt stuff is so bad that the guide will not guide the window up straight. I have to use my hand to help it a little. Some day I will fix this, but right now it is very cold.

My problem with slow roll up was like Nick-7's, the felt in the track was getting out of place. I seated it back in, then put everything back together and it lasted for two days before coming out again. So when I fixed it again, I gently bent the metal tracks that hold the felt so they fit more tightly against the window. Problem solved, they have been working perfectly for several months now.

Right site there DF, just not a direct link to the page concerning windows. This one will get you there quicker though.
