Simple Fixes, now no start

Well yesterday my car ran AOK, well i decided to track down why my right headlight wouldnt work. Turns out one of the wires brok eof f the blade connector so i cut them and wired them together outside of the plug. I also cut my wires for my dash and hooked the 2 together that make my dash lights actaully work. Well today ive got no spark, from any of my 8 sparkplugs, 4 that i just cleaned and 4 that i drove around on yesterday. Any ideas why?
