Silver Faced Gauges (again!)

Now that the silver faced gauges have been out awhile and R&D is paid for, I'm able to drop the price on them to $49.99

As for 81-83 gauges, I can have 12 of them made and distribute them for $69.99 each or 30 of them made and distribute them for $59.99 each...

Thing is I'll have to pay for all 12 or all 30, so I'm hoping there'll bee enough interest.

they'll look similar to the 84-85 gauges in finish quality and colour scheme, but of course be the size and shape of 81-83 gauges.

Since asking 81-83 owners to email me with requests for these gauges didn't work out, I'm asking you to post interest in this thread and we'll see where things go. Perhaps some of those who bought 84-85 silver gauges through me would also post their opinions of the quality of product/dealing with rotorhead etc...

the silver looks good man, why didn't you paint the needles red, black, something,,, darker for contrast
so you can SEE the needles,,,nail polish works good and comes in day-glow and all sorts of contrasting colours IMO

Well, I'd basicly be intrested, but I need them in kilometers. So I guess that's not helping you much either. Nevertheless, should you make km ones for 81-83 RX-7's I'd be very intrested.

Manntis,
as you probably already know 81' & 82' are 85 mph, and 83' are 130. Are you going to offer both varieties?

I want some in MPH and for the 83 which is the 130 MPH speedo, but I have no money. If I had money, I would buy them.

They have nail polish in every colour of the rainbow.
I don't know on your year's guage cluster, but on an 82's there are small lamps on the top of the cluster with
a yellow'd cover. to lite up the faces a bit from the front.
I'm sure someone makes some sort of a ' black light'
'neon' type bulb. and flourescent nail polish,,, good to go .

The pics on your site are too small. I can't make out the details.

Hey mantis, you not planning to stop selling those anytime are you? I really want to get some but I cant fork down 50 bux for some guages for about a month or so.

I also got your shifter boot, and its really nice but I think mine might be cut a little too short, because every time I move the stick into reverse the plastic pannel wants to pop out. Looks great if its not in reverse though!

rotary emotions: They don't have 'em with metric as the large type, but the small numbers *are* metric. I live in canada, and hell, I think I might just get the MPH ones anyway. It's not like it makes a huge difference really, as long as you can tell how fast your going, small numbers or large.

Manntis: Now that I've said this... do the small numbers light up at night too? Or would I have no clue what metric speed I'd be going in the middle of the night?

Jon

That's why it says "Click on the image to enlarge"

Yup, the KPH numbers light up too, in red...

Maybe it'd work, but I'm not sure. I used to drive a bike with a USA speedo, and little numbers as metric. It's not bad, but not really what I want either. The problem is: if I buy them, and then not like them, it'd be really stupid...
Also, I just installed a FC (NA) speedo in my car, because the original one went only to 210km/h, but my car's faster then that. So now the FC one goes up to 240. This means I'd need a custom (=expensive) face for the speedo... I'm still really unsure what route to go, since those Manntis style gauges are REAL cool. Especially the night style...

Sorry to be a pain Manntis but I did click to enlarge. Heck I imported the pic into a viewer so I could enlarge it even more.

I just wanted a larger pic so that I could make out the details.

The best pic, of what they really look like in real life, is on my car, the main display unit. The other ones make it look flat grey, but they are bright silver in real life.

Okay so I flip through every page on the Iotus site and when I get to page 5 at the very bottom there is a link to a place that sells clear tail lights. They also seem to sell replacement gauge faces. One happens to be metric, so that can't be from Manntis.

Iotus, how did you make your choice?

I'm very interested. I couldn't buy them right away, but I'd probably buy them down the road, don't want to commit to anything though. How hard are they to install? Thanks, Manntis.

they're easy to put in. Getting the old cluster out is a PITA, though...
