These are pix of my rearend axel...do you guys think it should be replaced?
Here's a pic of the Diff
Also, what is this?
Finally, what is this part? Its in the front just in front of the tire under the bumper?
Also, I found my oil leak...the drain plugs were loose.

love the braaaap
I would suggest taking it out of the car, changing the gear oil and whatnot, replace the gasket in the diff housing, and sanding the rust off. Then paint is black or any colour you want.

Fuel filter, fuel pump and Cover.
Yeah, I agree it's the front brake duct.
Honestly? I'd say replace those rusted parts if you can't sand/seal them back to good condition.

i don't know too much about cars as i'm still learning, but i don't think sanding, caulk and paint will be a permanent fix for this, would it???
plus if i take it out, sand the rust off, aren't i just possibly opening other leaks? i'd rather just replace the whole thing with a solid replacement with no leaks and no rust...
for that, how much should it cost me? or rather how much should i offer someone selling theirs? and yes, it is a gsl-se...

WOW, I havent seen a rex with rust that bad yet, mabey its being on the west cost, but I live in seattle. Seriously, I'd honestly be thinking how much the car is worth, compaired to how much it will take to get all the rust out.
I mean, I've heard of the wheel well problems before, but DAMN, now I know what you guys are talking about.

**Update**
I found a rearend in NYC and had it installed, it had ZERO probs going in and I might even have parts from the old one to sell, excluding the leaking axel housing ofcourse...rotors, callipers...etc...
As for the rust and the last comment, I've thought about it but i just love RX7's too much to give it up...maybe next summer I'll look into getting a chassis if I come across one. for now i'm having the wheel wells replaced and even part of the floor for a great price...the work is being done at a sheet metal shop and they ashured me that it would be at least double as strong in support...
