I would keep it stock Iotus. IMO the sleepy eyes makes the car look like it just woke up from a nap, or like its drunk. I think the two round stock lights look way classier than the four. It gives the car more personality. I think the exterior on yours look fabulous already.

I think the car you showed in the second pic looks a little bit overdone. It's starting to reach the point of rice if you ask me.... The lights would be acceptable but after he added the hood scoop, the wheels, the spoiler, the hood ornament, the poorly placed antenna, the clear corners, and the body kit, there is just a little too much eye candy.

People can only focus on one thing at a time, which is why cars look like crap when you put too much stuff on them. They look too busy and then you feel confused looking at them cause you are trying to figure out what the focal point of the car is supposed to be. Just something to think about...

But who am I to talk? Look at my car!

As I looked at the first two pics I rather liked them, but then the final pic of the mostly stock 7 was simply far superior. Much subtler.

Great looking 7, by the way.

I don't really like that look. I sure like your car tho! That blue is real nice.

Here's some original headlights:

The auction is over, but if you email him he can get them for you.

This might help you to decide:

Stock headlights at night = "Porsche look"

Sleepy-eye quad lights pictured above = "ugly Acura Integra look."

I'd pick option #1...

Hm. Thanks for all the input and kind words guys.

I agree, and have been thinking the same.

But last night, at 3:30 AM, it sounded like a good idea for some reason. The more i look at it, the less i like them on this car.

Anywas, i've got my eyes on some lights from either www.procarparts.com or www.cibielights.com

whered you read that from? maybe if you did your own and ghetto rigged it by disabling the motors and manually adjusting the height when you first rigged it the kits ive seen come with shortened connecting arms which enable the sleepy look.

it may stink like rice to you, but that’s my car and it’s got a Series 5 TurboII in it. Oh and the headlights actually look phenomenal at night compared to the factory single bulb setup provided by

Wow, now this is a BACK FROM THE DEAD reply from a thread that's from 21 years ago.

You're car looks great though, and the dual headlights are not a sleepy eye look. Did you change the pivoting arm length to a smaller one?

Love that this necropost has a genuine reason with it. Your car looks great and I bet it's a lot of fun with that engine setup.

I looked at that bumper myself! I think it's a great modern style that fits our cars nicely. I heard its a pain in the *** to make fit, is that true?

What I find impressive is that ioTus found that picture 20 years ago and created s thread about it and you still own the car. Its impressive that you've kept the car and have not altered it or sold it. While the look of the headlights aren't my taste, I can agree that they would be a vast improvement over the original headlight's lighting capabilities. I modified an led headlight kit for a Porsche 944 and installed it in my 85. It's much better than the original lighting and I can retain the original look. Do your headlights open and close, but with a shorter opening angle?

they’re fully functional and open and close freely with no issues whatsoever the opening angle is just shorter yes but they still work like factory

I actually cut a lot and made it fit over the factory bumper by modifying it to my liking it could’ve fully replaced the factory bumper but I decided to go a different route with it

the car is super fun and has given me no issues over the last several years. Plus she was just tuned recently for a hiccup in fueling but all of that was addressed with a new ECU and fuel lines to and from the tank. Even got a new fuel pump and cleaned up the fuel rails along with new injectors and anything else that may have been a potential headache
