Should i even attempt it?
Hey all, i have an 84 GSl-SE. Right now its basically stock, even worse, my cat with the backpressure tube got broke so i gotta get 80 bucks to replace that here in a week or 2. Do you think, without replacing my cat, so no 5th and 6th ports, i would stand a chance against a Talon with a 1.8 litre turbo in it wiht no other mods?
if its the front wheel drive... youll get there with some mods, but the awd cars are fast. not alot of $$$$ and they are in the 13's. a couple weeks ago i went to the track, 5 dsms there, one ran a 13, the others where in 12's, low 12's at that.
well this car is not real new, hes getn the car itself for 100, no motor, then getn the 1.8 turbo for another 800. the car itself is nothign special i heard, alls tock, pry only front wheel.
talon isnt 1.8..its 2.0. and no..you wont beat one. they push around 200hp stock, in addition to the AWD..which makes for a killer quarter mile for a street car. whats a backpressure sensor?? i dont want to hook that crap up to my exhaust.

backpressure sensor opens my 5th and 6th ports, and its not a talon engine, its an engine outta some other car, its a 1.8 litre turbo like i said, and im doubting its a awd one because hes payin 100 bucks for the car w/o motor
it is a tube the runs from the Cat to the 5th and 6th ports actuators to open them when the backpressure in the exhaust reaches about 4 psi or so.
And the race would all depend on the driver.
BTW wasnt the turbo 1.8 from the tredia, and wasn't that rear wheel drive? I know it was less then 120hp.
