should i buy rx7?

Okay i was home today and this guy came by my house and then did a u turn and pulled up into the drive way and asked who's mazda that was sitting in my yard and i said it's mine. Then he asked if it ran and i told him yup. He then asked why it had been sitting their in the same spot because he's seen it a couple of times on his way to work and i told him that it runs but i don't want to use it because i removed the muffler and im in the works to getting another one. He told me that he has one exactly like mine and that he's willing to sell it. I asked where it was and he said in mexico (i live next to the border) he went down there to see if a mechanic would fix it because i doesn't want to turn on anymore and also that no one in mexico would touch that sort of engine because they know nothing about it. In my head im thinking like maybe its something small thats easy so i asked how much he wants for it? He says i don't know? Then i asked if he's got any pics so he says that he'll get some then get back to me. I'm thinking maybe its a risk or maybe its a good risk i don't know yet though.

Just make sure he agrees to deliver the car into your hands. You don't want to be left in a situation where your in Mexico trying to claim a car, maybe he owes them $ or something. No telling the kind of hassles you might end up with. Just my 2c.

If he can deliver, it's never a risk to buy an RX 7. Especially a first gen. Here pretty soon there won't be too many left, and even if you just get parts out of it, there's always people willing to buy parts

Make sure you see the title and that it is CURRENTLY registered in his name and is transferrable ( no liens against it). Personally I would want the car to be brought back across the border but if that is not possible go with him to see the car in person. If you buy it, do not give him any money until you have the car hooked up and ready to tow it home.

BE CAREFUL when you buy something that is in another country!

If it seems to be too good of a deal to be legal , then it probably isnt! trust no one on a deal like that , have the state police run it to be sure it wont glow in the dark, take a couple trusted ,big , friends with you and cover your ***.
