***** and giggles...

just for the hell of it the other day I threw a bottle of mmo into my boinger (storm) which was down on compression a good bit, down to around 140 per. After one tank of that stuff I did a compression test.... lol jeasus its pushin 200 psi now!! I was wtf.... cuz the factory max is 160, my best guess is that w/low compression carbon built up and now that the rings are sealing again thx to mmo its back past factory spec, lol its awesome, I also have ign timing cranked to like 30 before tdc so its driving the cylender pressure up to we guessed about 220 lol bet ya never seen a geo with 11:1 compression

ya with 200+ cylender pressure its a bad ****'n geo now! lol truthfully storms are pretty quick by themselves, isuzu made good engines! I should know I raced a 85 Impulse Jr turbo-Jspec for a long time, still got it but timing belt snapped at 8g's and now the valves look like a piece of modern art. ill tell ya what if you ever see a turbo 80's model impulse for sale BUY IT! they have massive top end! its an 2L Hemi style 4, and on 8 psi my buddy and I hit almost 130 in 4th gear at 5k rpm I **** you not, only downside is there harder than my fb to find parts for. Anyway ya that storm is a bad sob now, and you should hear it, its so damn loud lol

I shudder thinking about the day that they stop selling MMO completely. That stuff is great. Best premix IMO.

You had much better luck than I then. I too had an '85 Impulse Turbo for a couple years. In the two tears I had it, I drove it maybe five, ten miles. Kept eating cylinder heads and/or head gaskets. Extremely frustrating. Got tired of throwing money at it and watching the cylinder heads sprout HUGE cracks in the exhaust ports of the #2 and #3 cylinder. Must be a combination of poor cooling from having the two exhaust valves next to each other, the tiny log style exhaust manifold with the turbo outlet right there, and the absurdly tiny turbo. Sure it makes boost at idle speed if you whack the throttle open but at what cost? I wasn't really sad to see it get crushed, even though it was awfully fun to drive.

A Chevette is the same chassis but has more headroom and a nicer rear suspension (same as Impulse non-turbo).

i personally was a fan of the impulse turbo!!!! they had the "handeling by lotus" tag on the fenders. really spiced them up a lot. i have never been in one. i think they run like 9.2 to 60mph. not too bad. a litttle tweaking and you could have a pretty quick car. ala DSM?????

I noticed that many oil adds are either thickners or thinners.

How does it work? What does it do?

Would the same thing happen if I just put in a bottle of gear oil into the block?

wait a minute what now?! your not makin any sense there man, anyway yeah I had the same head problem with my impulse turbo, very very quick off the line if you keep the revs up a little bit but mine was mostly top end, I went through two heads before I had to junk the car, damn timing belts are **** in those cars

Here you can read all you want. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...&highlight=MMO
Pay special attention to the post by Denny. Second, your right hand drive Savanah (noticed your sig) could only be as early as a 78 (I had one when I was stationed in Japan) the door jam may say 77 but anything after mid Oct is considered the next year. (selling strategy). Have fun reading the MMO, and dont put gear oil in the block, Youll fry/wear down your starter on the second or third attempt.
