Shirt idea

First the disclaimer.

At this stage everything is highly hypothetical. I have merely done some art that I believe would make a nice shirt. I am merely looking to see if there's an agreement. After gaguing interest, I would then see about getting some quotes etc.

Interest in this item should be emailed to me, and if there's enough interest, I'll see what I can do.

Here's the plan...

Again, this shirt does not exist (yet). This is just to show where the art below would go.

The art still lacks the wheels, but since I'm exploring things at this stage, I figured it'd be pretty safe to show this "incomplete" design.

Hypothetically, were there enough interest, shirts like these could be done on good quality cloth for around $20 shipped. If there's not-so-much interest, it'd likely be higher. If there's more interest than I thought possible, this could be closer to $10.

Since the Rx-7 logo is copyrighted, this is all hypothetical because the chances of using said logo without paying ungodly royalties are likely low.

These shirts do NOT exist anywhere but in a design... yet

I'll have to read up on the Manntis incident

As to the rest, I'd make it a stock 7 for one simple reason - one design = low cost/shirt. Custom shirts? Well, let's just say that if I were only making one, it'd be a very expensive one-of-a-kind shirt. Even with the relatively low number of screens

*edit*

Read up briefly on the Manntis incident, and since these shirts are without affiliation, and I will not be "selling my wares" on this forum (not to mention price it costs + shipping is price that's paid), I don't forsee a problem.

Besides, as long as there are only a few 1st gen mods, I'll find a way to donate shirts without the price coming from my pocket (ie if 50 shirts are sold, slipping another 50 cents per shirt to permit shirts for mods is doable).

Do it... it's nigh impossible to find RX-7 shirts anymore, let alone first gen. And as far as what Manntis went through, don't worry about it.. that was for rx7forum.com stickers, which you're not promoting them, so they can't do squat.. Mazda and their logo, on the other hand.. well, do it anyways.. we need cool stuff like this..

Hehe - again, thanks for the support, Danny.

Since I make my living doing design, I have nothing but the utmost respect for copyright law.

That being said, if Ford is going overboard on ensuring that a disused brand label is being protected...

25 years from registered use covers them. So worst case scenario, this should be doable in... oh, 2010?

The stock "+" wheels would look much better. Keep it stock.

My input - two rotors, no writing, make the 'Mazda' on the header panel a line drawing like the rest, and though I'd love to see the GSL-SE wheels on there I think a broader population would be served by the plus design. I would also be fine with deleting the 'RX-7' from the front and just having the design on either the front or the back if that would bring the cost down. I'd buy a couple.

Im with lotsacars, make the header panel writing lines...Less "attention getter". Also, I know its bending the law, but I bet they have a copyright on the "Mazda RX-7" badge on the fenders, not just "RX-7" in that writting .

like everyone already said. it looks good without the text, and keep it stock looking. I know it's still in the design stage, but did you notice that the car needs windshield wipers and there's is no seam for the hood? Just checkin

Put me down for a medium.

Yes, I finished the hood seam last night (figured it was less noticeable than the wheels, and I was right)

I'm still up in the air on the wipers, as in all honesty - they don't add anything to the lines or look of the car... I mean, outlines of wipers? didn't look good when I did them, but I'll try again.

Keep the votes/comments coming, and I'll see about getting something done.

Just the two rotors and the car and RX-7 and that would be awesome, I'd buy one, or two.
