I don't have anything to "feel better" about

We both do design, we both do it well...

Unless you're the one sleeping with my wife - d'oh!

Looks very nice, but I would prefer a white shirt with black printing, and the LE "snowflake" wheels would look better than the rather plain "+" wheels. I'm currently working on a shirt design featuring pre-RX7 rotary cars and REPU for old-school fans.

that is true... but i was looking at it trying to figure out what was throwing me off. and decided it was the wipers. it looks more like a toy model than the actual car without the wipers. but thats just my opinon...

Reload the front image with the 2 rotors or look below - it should be the most current version.

This one is w/o wipers. The wheels are missing lugs, etc but I feel that this level of detail is most appropriate.

Keep the feedback coming - I should have a quote on quantities this afternoon.

The rear wheel is missing the tire I had also noticed the missing cowl and windshield wipers in addition to there being no door handle, lock, or antenna. However, I think if you got absolutely every detail on there it would start to look a bit muddled which is why I didn't say anything - thought you might be going for a smoother look. In all I'd say you did a very nice job and am ready to plunk down cash for 1-2.

I'd also be fine with it if you wanted to delete the 'Mazda' and 'RX-7' badging entirely to steer clear of copyright infringement. It's pretty obvious what kind of car it is to an enthusiast and if they don't know what it is they're not going to appreciate it any more with the badges on there. Just my opinion...

Just a question - in what way are you planning on making the stencils for the screens? I hope it's not just amber cut... you'll be cutting for a LONG time with an exacto-knife.... I've never tried it out, but there's that UltraViolet-sensitive stencil stuff that's purple, and you just print your design out onto a clear laminate sheeting (like overhead stuff), then put it over top of the stencil sheeting. Turn on the black light for a bit, and boom, got a perfect stencil, no mistakes, nothing.

You probably know more about this than me, but I'm learning, and was just curious...

I have a friend who runs a screening shop, he'll be the one worrying about that me? I just do nice designs - he worries about the screen process. Since he's been in business for years, and does work for some large companies (Harris to name one), I'm certain he has an easy process already

Reload the picture - it's been updated with the door handle, key hole, and fixed rear tire (did I mention I was doing this at work between 3 other paying jobs? ).

This is the last iteration that I forsee, and it's the one the quote will be coming on (looks like tomorrow though).

Thanks everyone for the comments. Hopefully this pipedream becomes a reality soon.

Ok, Im not trying to be ****, but the hood lines look a little goofy, and the wheels just dont look right... Not that I am better, but these are two that I did for a flash website I made, and I think it looks good with the windshield wipers, but thats just me. I could whip up something in the perspective you have if youre interested Pratch .

I like the idea of the Panasports too, but only if they looked really good. Otherwise, just leave em blank . In either case, if you get them made, talk to Manntis about maybe selling them through his site . Id buy one or two also.

get rid of the "RX7".. that 70's style writing just doesnt look good with the line art.

maybe the back could say "I shift mad quick, yo."

Ok Ill chime in again. Ditch the crosses on the wheels. I dont think it looks right no matter how accurate they are because theres no contrast/3D there to be had and it adds too much detail/focus on something thats not important to the art. It's all about the shape. Also ditch the badges too, thats too much detail on what should be IMHO an industrial design/engineering style line drawing. Whats the artistic feel here? Im thinking of the simple industrial feel line drawing that brings out the classic, timeless, sexy lines of a one of a kind design, not cluttered with cowl slots, wipers, detailed wheels, badges. Its not a picture but more of a sillouette. So keep it simple, itll also keep the cost down. You dont need all that crap on the drawing to know what it is. One look at that shirt on someone 200ft away and youll know EXACTLY what it is. BTW excellent job Tom, I knew you were good for something! j/k.... Now about that banana design for my racecar...........................

Hmmmmmmm TJ might be right about the hood lines. Is it an illusion or are they curved wrong? And not quite parallel?

It's an illusion since it's not a pure angle.

Again - this is straight from a photo, and although it's possible that the lines on the photo were inaccurate, most people don't iron their shirts, the the chance of it being noticed is low.

Now, that being said - I WILL update the art again before sending it off, and the final art will be posted to this thread in the next hour or so.

okay - updated, so reload the image.

The illusion was likely caused by the antialiasing of skinny vector lines in a low-resolution image.

Translation? The lines are all thin and crisp in the actual art - it'll be damn near impossible to find any issues

I'm in for two but would prefer to have the rx-7 logo on the front if it's possible. Also, everyone's been dissing on the wheels but I noticed the tires - just a little strangely shaped. Looks great, though.
