Question Seized Wiper linkage.

So My wiper motor got here today Thanks RX-7 Doctor! Customs did a bit of damage to the box to say the very least, but I tested it and it works. One Problem down, one to go.

In the process of Rebuilding my linkage I found that only oneside of the linkage was seized (The part that goes thru the cowel and bolts to wipers.) The other side was sticky however after a nice coating of WD-40 it broke free an spins like new but the other side (currently soaking in WD-40) will NOT budge....

Is this a part I can pick up at Napa, or CarQuest etc? Or will I have to hunt one down or Try to un seize this part? Any Suggestions?

Part in Question.

Excuse the crappy iPhone picture.

I had to get a good used one to fix mine. I don't think anyone sells that part. You used to be able to buy the whole rack from Mazda, but I don't think they carry it any more (could be wrong).

Mine was seriously stuck. Even soaked in a tub of PB Blaster for over a week and it did nothing. Even tried to knock it free with a 5lb mini-sledge hammer..would not budge. Got a rebuilt motor, replaced that part, greased everything up, and it works pretty good now.

I don't know if this will work to unstick that but may be worth a try. theres 2 methods in this thread. the one in the link, and the one kentetsu lists with acid.

interesting idea. mine wasn't siezed too bad, i was able to drive it out, clean it, and re-install it. did both sides. wipers work great now.

I've had to unstick three of these things. Always a pleasure.

Back from camping bump!

May have found a linkage to use, still looking for solutions anyway!

I had the same problem, couldn't get it to budge so I grabbed one from a parts car.

Sadly I don't have a parts car. The only other 1st Gen Rx7 I've seen in St. Thomas is for sale up the road from my place and I dont have 3K to drop on a parts car lol.

In that case I would suggest trying to find a junkyard that has one.

~~~UPDATE~~~
I spent a whole 25 Minutes with a propane torch and got the part nice and red, then dipped it in WD-40 (lots of smoke I'm not going to lie lol!) However after that I used a pair of vice grips and broke it free!
So thats solved, however after rebuilding the linkage and installing it in the car the wipers stay "up" in the off position? I'm assuming all I have to do is rotate the arm on the motor 180° so they return to the bottom of the window? I'll trouble shoot that part tomorrow as I work in an hour.
Thank you all VERY much for your help and/or advice/tips I really appreciate it being a "No0b" to the Forums.
Also, thanks again to "Rx7-Doctor" for the motor! I have my intermitent(sp) setting back and am one step closer to having her legal for the road! (only to go away for the winter in a month or two lol)
Bringing this back from the dead. The bushings of the wiper linkage my 78 are toast. Anyone have a part number or link to replace these?
Thanks
