seafoam
For the same reason you need to redline it every so often, to blow the carbon out. I am a firm believer that if you drive it harder it will clean a little better. Not saying it is a noticeable difference, but every little bit helps. Also, dont use it much on a high mileage engine because the carbon somewhat helps to seal the engine, from what I am told.

Nope, not as long as you just add it to the fuel of down the carb. It'll actually clean your plugs for you. If you were to use an oil based additive, then plug cleaning/changing would be beneficial
Maybe if you put it into the oil, which would do nothing to decarbonize, but COULD help clean the oil, also thinning it which could lead to smoking... The proven way to use it is to pour down the carb or with a little bit of gas in the tank and drive it like you stole it.
Bob, depending on how much internal cleaning the engine needs determines where one runs the Seafoam through the engine. For general maintenance, a can in the fuel tank with each oil change will help keep the carbon build up down. If the engine hasn't had a Seafoam treatment for many miles and carbon is built up, then add 1/2 can to the carb at a fast enough rate to kill the engine, then let it soak over night. Add the second 1/2 the next with rpms raised to keep the engine from dying. This would be a good time to add a full can to the fuel tank which will clean the remainder of the fuel system.
It works. Put it in the gas tank as described and you can't screw it up. I used to pour it down the carb, or suck it up through a vac line, but in the end found out that through the tank works just as well.
Hey Bob, have you and Perfect Circle ever met up?
