-SE,,now theres fuel.

Hey all.

Well, after cleaning the gas tank, pick-up tube, gas guage sender, replace the fuel pump/filter, and i even added an extra canister fuel filter between the tank and the fuel pump. So a filter is before and after the pump.
Under the hood where the fuel line goes to the engine I made a 'T' out of brass fittings, and added a fuel presure guage to it. It only goes to 15 lbs. and gets pegged.
So with the key turned to the 'on' position i push the flapper door on the AFM open.(it moves freely ) and i can hear the pump, pumping and i can see that it is working because the presure guage goes up and down as i open and close the AFM flapper door. The engine tries to start, but just doesn't catch. what am i missing.,?
did i forget something. i pulled the plugs and they are dry. so what is it ?? clogged injectors ?? I'm so close i can't stop now. what do you think ??? thanks guys..

Oh, by the way,, i used a real long, small link chain to clean out the gas tank. works VERY, VERY good. IMO

How do you use the chain to clean the tank? I've never heard of that before. Just bang the crap out of it, and hope for no sparks?

The chain are the kind that you buy at the crafts stores.
Painted black already, i must have at least 10 lbs. of it.
maybe 50 feet of chain. tie off one end of chain, load the rest in the tank, fill with some water, and roll that sucker around on the front lawn. My only worry was:
that the chain is so small, if it got caught up somewhere
that it would break, and then guess what ?? but no problem. water means no sparks ??

Reading today, the 1984 rx7 owners manual, ..
and is this right ?? the clutch has to be pushed in for the engine to start ?? it can't be that easy.

so your getting fuel now? what about spark? what about compression?

My bros car wont even turn over without the clutch pushed in...

The FSM just wants you to not have it in gear while trying to crank.... thats why they want you to get used to pushing in the clutch to start it....

and if the motor is flooded..... get some MMO (marvels mystery oil. And pull the lower two plugs... Then put a vacume hose in the bottle, and put you finger on one end... and like a straw in theory it should stay in that hose and then stick like maybe a teaspoon or maybe 5 in the chamber to build more compression to over compensate the fuel............... so if you have spark, it should start.....

And if you didnt get fuel.......... and you cleaned all the lines.... if you dont clean the fuel regulator and return lines, ect... it will just clog again...... CLEAN EVERYTHING...

and... the fuel rail.... and the injectors......... blah blah blah

Thanks, Laterz, Andrew
