SA shifter into FB tranny

I'm wondering if I can fit an SA shifter into an FB tranny with no/minimal mods. I'm looking to get the shifter up a bit higher without increasing the through.

the SA shifter is different from the FB in that its angled so that its closer to the driver, i think itd be very uncomfortable with a FB since the FB's shifter is further back...

That won't work without making some adapter parts.
I was considering making a short throw kit with a really long rod for rally and autoX, think they'd sell?

As long as the throw was really short I'd buy one. What kinda price would you be asking? I was gonna just get one of your regular short-throws and make an extension that could be removed but I was afraid I'd end-up with a truck shifter when I was using it lengthened.

peejay uses a dowel pin and a 12mm x 1.5 stud (like from the front plate of an engine). Oh, maybe a nut too.

To do what? Make an extension? I'd really be interested in keeping the stock feel but with a significantly longer lever.

Yeah, he calls it the tall boy mod. You end up rowing through the gears, but a short shift kit would bring it back to more of a stock feel, only with a much longer lever.

Thats what I'm aiming for, maybe Jorx81@aol.com could hook me up? I After driving the car pretty much all weekend I've come to the realization that a longer lever and shorter throw really would make shifting much easier.

I'll see what I can come up, be paitent though. I'm having a hard enough time with this group buy plus the other 5,000 projects I have going, and others I want to start.

Quite the opposite. Instead of needing your arm to shift the factory little stub, you can just flip the shifter with your wrist and fingers. Whap, next gear. Don't even need to take your thumb off the steering wheel half the time!

The steering wheel is being extended and a new shifter is in construction. It'll be a bit more of a bitch to get to the radio than before, but at least it's not in the engine room like in my Nissan (yech!).
