Hey all
I have a 79 Rx7 with a mild port 12a. Now she ran fine for ages but recently its been coughing and spluttering a lot when accelerating. For a while i had the secondries tied to make them mechanical, but i stopped it when it coughed etc.. but it still does it. I asked on another forum and they said electrical, but it all seems good to me. I think the plugs might be a lil worn.

Also the coughing sounds like its coming from under me. It had a hole in the exhaust by the first resonator thingy (not too good on exhausts).. i got that replaced and well it sounds like the coughing is coming from there.. also i had a couple of backfires and they also seemes to come from there

Please i need help, its becoming almost undrivable due to this.

Hmmm. Does the car run well at cruise or light throttle? If so, perhaps your accelerator pump has gone bad. If your ap is not working, you will get a bog or hesitation when you punch the gas. It's a place to start anyways.
