RX7 and Miata shift rod ends interchangable?

I've been digging for a while and can't find any info on it, I'm talking about the shift rod ends, not the shift forks. The RX7 ones (two of the three and the selector lever) are NLA... has anybody had both transmissions apart and can tell me if I can swap them? Thanks.

I don't think they are directly interchangeable. As far as i remember they could be the same diameter but I want to say the miata rods are shorter?? maybe they could be redrilled to fit.

Hmmm, I'll have to try and get my hands on some to find out for future reference, as I'm sure this issue will come up in the future. I've got two tranny's and both have more than the .8mm gap between the rod end and the selector lever, especially so on the 2-3 rod end. I'd foresee this as an issue others will encounter in the future. (Since they are NLA)
For now I welded the rod ends and ground them down back to spec, we'll see how long that lasts

Miata shift rod ends are fairly cheap. But wear faster than the old rx7.
