Rx7 1985 gsl Battary cable
Hey I have had my Rx7 for 5 years now and only been able to drive it the first year I got it. I have replaced alternator, belts, fuel pump and changed spark plugs/wires to ngk, not sure what else needs replacing the battery cables are my only thing I haven’t replaced and they look really frayed does anyone know what I should buy or what kind I should go with?
when I get home I can send a video of me trying to start it also has a switch connected to the fuel pump to turn it on maybe it’s just pulling to much power but I will send photos and videos of trying to start it. Thankyou so much for replying so fast!

I think my belt for the alternator is incorrect or needs replaced tried starting her up and instantly was hearing a winning sound and flipped my fuel pump switch on and pressed the gas after turning the key started her up in a idle of 500 and the belt to the alternator was smoking. I would show video but I couldent upload it.
For new battery cables, take the old ones off and label the connections on the starter and cable itself. You'll need to get aftermarket cables. I like the ones with the built-in ends. I used ones from Tractor Supply. The positive is pretty straight forward. For the negative, I used one main one and another two foot one that runs from the battery to the connection on the driver's side strut tower. This is what the factory one does. I also ran another ground from the alternator big bolt to the struct tower.
I used ones from RockAuto. the negative is a two piece that divides at the ground point on the driver shock tower and the positive goes to the starter and has a short lead that connects to the OEM harness for the alternator juice.
