It was rather funny, ive worked on tons of those motors and at best there on par with a stock 12a just a diff powerband and the 12a/13b yeild far better results with minor upgrades. And its ALWAYS oil leak city under them unless you rebuild them with better seals and gaskets. The KA and SR blocks are almost like turbo was an after thought and the gaskets dont hold up under the boost, kinda like the 350z door handles look like an after thought " there its perfect, awww **** we forgot door handles"

I like it. I would love to see more pics of it. I would have preferred an SR20, but Meh.

I researched a SR/KA swap for a while. It is actually an easy swap to do. The subframes are very similar.

Meh. Clean, but not the motor I would have chosen, even if I were to do a piston swap.

Not that one would ever find its way under my hood, but I always thought a f22c (s2000 motor) would be a good match to these small cars. 250 stock ponies which is better than some ferraris when you break it down to hp per cylinder out of a stock motor. With tons of aftermarket support its a pretty sexy engine

Nice swap, but he straight-up eliminated the front cross-member. The engine is now a stressed member in that car.

That engine was probably a stressed member sitting on the garage floor.

Everything has its place, but this is about equal to installing a pushrod V-8 into a Ferrari or Maserati. RX=Rotary. Anything else and you are messing with vehicles very soul and spirt. Nice custom conversion, but she ain't no Rx-7 anymore.

I've actually seen an SR20 swap that was owned by a local guy.

I'd prefer an aluminum block over the KA24DE. I'm not sure if the SR is aluminum or not.
I'm looking for a light weight aluminum V6.

No, the SR20 is not aluminum either.

Now, see, that swap I could get behind. An F20C or F22C would actually match the spirit of the car. Lightweight, high-strung, and powerful. Very technically impressive motors.

I would've chosen another car to do the swap into but it is a clean looking car.

He's entitled to do whatever he wants to his car, I'm entitled to have my opinion on the end result. I'm not going to lie and say I think it's awesome.

Says that rotaries can be a pain in the ***. Yeah, because my well-maintained stock RX7s just give me so much trouble.

Also says it's smoother than quieter than the rotary.

Um, right.

I got no problem with the car, just the OP trying to defend the fact that the conversion was a bit of a waste of time and money.
