Ze' Rx7-Ka-T's evolution...

I was asked to do something similar to this because some people were curious.

Starts off its life as an abused 12A 83 RX7 GSL (came with stock LSD!!)




then came the lightening....

seems to be getting light enough...

lets add some weight back in! 91 KA24DE motor (from a 150k+ mi car...)



and then started some body work...which consisted of shaving the ugly trim pieces, and fixing all dents and dings...

ANNDDD...finally some crappy paint, but atleast its one color..



and added some powa...a battery and battery box..lol



Then off to the custom shop!!! Making brackets for the mounts in first pic.



boxing in old crossmember i cut out.



making sure it fits before welding in the mounts...



and poly mounts!!!!

Up next is the custom 8" Toyota Rear end (with welded diff) with custom coilover suspension thats tied into the cage!!!



and my slicks!





and i cant forget to mention the giant hole in my wheel well were the rust was...can someone say mini tubes?



Also by around this time i installed my Spec stage 3 clutch and short shifter, along with finished just about ALL of the wiring (minus gauges and turn signals)



and of course Finally where the "T" comes in with T-rx project!!



Also installed my SAFC Neo and mounting setup for switches..

and welded up my exhaust 3" from the turbo back, to dual 3" pipes.




and then where im sitting right now...i got some new kicks for the car...17x10's Enkie Rpf1's... (soon to be 17x9's in front)





17's VS 13's...lol



and i'll also be running a 5mm sandwich out back to gain alittle more clearance...

Then i added a polished VC w/ letters shaved off to fool the foolish.



and some random pics of progress that i didnt put in order...

Plans for the near future (hopefully by spring.):

5 lug/ big brake setup for front (going to 12.5" rotor and 4 pot calipers)
Full engine rebuild
turbo rebuild
guages
front window
Install side lexan window (i already have them)
Install tubes (have those also)
front coilover suspension w/ koni shock setup.

as for other future plans of next year:

rear disc brake conversion (drums right now)
Full paint job (a real one, inside and out)
convert all hoses to braided
clean up wiring more...(theres always more...ick)
carbon hood
possible R&P setup for steering. (if i can figure out a way)
body kit

went back out and worked some more. got her completely tore down.

yup bearings suck. one is completely toast. crank is all good still though (wipes forehead)

Make sure to prime that oil pump=D and get it snug.. they like to leak.

I noticed those mount to, looks good, I know its going to run like a bat out of hell, I dropped my carb tune port engine in my 87 RX about three weeks ago, now waiting on a couple more brackets from grannys, tring to start up this weekend
