Rotary shack????

HELLO,

Can anyone provide me with any information on ROTARY SHACK? I am trying to get hold of them for some parts & their phone number on their website is not working.
Is there any other way I can get hold of them? Are they still in business?? I would love to talk to somebody about the Weber carb/Intake manifold set-up the offer for the GSL w/12a engine....

They claim 60-100 hp gains depending upon the set-up .... 48 weber, Street Port, full RB STREET PORT exhaust... and I am installing an MSD on the loading plugs...

any info will be greatly appreciated.

sam

I emailed them twice asking for info about the side draft (12A) intake manifold and did not hear back.

I would recommend finding yourself a RB modified Dellorto DLHA 48 if you want to go side draft. There is plenty of info on aftermarket carbs for the 12A on the forums.

A RB modified DHLA drives nicely and can be found used if you hunt around for a bit.

Not really sure of spending big $$$ on a new sidedraft and intake.

I have a Streetported 12A with RB Dell and RB full streetport exhaust... It is certainly not 100hp gain.

Maybe 160HP?

My stock port 12A with a Dell on it did 134hp to the wheels back when I was running it. Do some simple math for drivetrain loss and that puts you at about 150hp at the crank. A street port might gain you another 20 or so at the crank, probably bring that wheel HP number up to 145 maybe.

My hogged out nikki actually performs better across the entire rev range compared to the Dell and I don't think I lost any power but haven't dynoed it yet.

That dude is banned from RX7club, he is known as a scammer. You can find him on instagram under rotaryshack. I have had friends pay and order parts from him and either not get them or get them months later after bugging and chasing him down. He has nice parts for sale, but their are not items that can not be found somewhere else.

From my observations, Robert supplied excellent service to some high profile members years back. Once he had a name it became a gamble if you would get your parts. I do expect this ahead to be locked soon. Most Rotary Shack threads are.

thanks Folks, I have had no luck in contacting Rotary Shack.... However, I trust all of You here .. & will seek my parts elsewhere.... it's just that HE DID have nice stuff for sale & his prices seemed reasonable....

I wanted one of his custom manifolds.... but oh well, I now have bought a TIG torch & will have to make my own...LOL

thx, Sam

His intake manifolds aren't custom, you can get the same one from Atkins Rotary. The only difference is that he polished them (or at least the ones posted on his website and Instagram were polished).

But as others have said, he is a horrible business person. We had to ban him from the Facebook group because he would post stuff for sale, take orders, then not deliver for months, and some people never got their goods. Any time he posted several dozen people would berate him asking where their paid for items are.

Did you modify the intake manifold or use a different manifold for your Nikki?

Modified the intake to remove the butterfly and cut a notch in its place to match the intake on the front rotor. Otherwise didn't mess with the rest of it. Pretty easy mod too. Did it all with a dremel tool.

Not sure how you can use a different manifold with a nikki.

I can't imagine that intake flows as well as the one you used for the side draft.

All I know is the entire setup works better all around than the RB Dell with the RB wraparound intake. I don't have to drive around issues like the Dell cutting out on RH turrns, the grunt is way better down low, it revs faster and with more power all the way to 8K. The Dell pooped out at about 7K. Does it flow better, not sure. Does it work better, absolutely.

Ok, I'm working on an EFI setup with the side draft intake. Sounds like your issues were mostly with the carb, things I can hopefully tune out with my setup. The only thing I won't be able to fix is the air velocity below 4,000 RPM since I won't have a way to close the secondaries. I'm expecting some loss in torque in that range.

Is it wraparound or straight in? The wrap around moves the torq down some and makes it more drivable at the expense of top end. Plus the RB wrap around has known compromised because its 2 piece and made to work on 12As and 13Bs.

I have the 1-piece wrap around. I have two size air horns for the 45mm throttle body I am hoping to eventually dyno to figure out which will work best for street and track days. The motor has a big street port on all 4 ports. I don't mind giving up a little street-ability, but I wanted to still be able to drive to track days. I'll be switching to direct fire ignition as well.
