Rotary Love

Geeze, do you guys know the feeling you get after you wax your car, and put about 10 hours into getting it looking nice and you take it out for the night and it runs great, and when you get home, you roll the windows down and listen to the engine and hear it rev up and down as you play with the gas?

Then you get out and as you are walking away from the car you look back at it and just feel that feeling of appreciation and joy of owning the car? Like you have a special connection to the car?

Just wondering if you guys know what I mean?

Yep.. Glad I'am not the only one. Everyone around me (friends and family) just don't understand why after all these years I got another 1st Gen 7. Especially with all the other cars available out there.

*sigh*

Yes - absolutely ! I especially get that Lovin feeling when I drive it on a cool evening when my car just seems to work better / pull harder. That, of course. is not the only time I love my car but that's when there's a definate spike in the emotion meter.

I feel ya. Its awesome to be in total control of a finely tuned machine that will obey your every wish and command. Some people (like my wife) don't know how to drive. They know how to operate a motor vehicle, but to know how to "drive" you have to have a special love and appreciation for every aspect of the car and how it works. My wife pushes the clutch and is clueless as to what goes on. That kinda thing seperates the operators from the drivers

I don't drive fast, I fly low

when i back it into my garage, i like to rev it up and down a couple times before i put her to sleep. i love the sound of the exhaust note resonating in the single-car garage . then when i get out, the wonderful smell of partially burned HCs and a hint of oil fills my lungs. i know i've just seen a little bit of heaven.

i love my car and i wouldn't trade it for anything. besides maybe a GSL-SE.

Oh, Jeremy, I have a parts car, an 84 GS that I just took the engine/tranny out of last night and it was running and operational before that with the gas gauge working and all. I may be persuaded to drop the tank and ship it to you (your buying ) if you are interested. I dont know if it will fit, but I thought I would throw the option out there for you.

All of the above, including the heavy petting part!
I fall asleep thinking about my car. Working on it, cleaning it or driving it - I feel the most alive when I'm alone with my car.
It superscedes all else for me. Sounds coarse, I know. I don't care. I don't say that to anyone, but it's true.
I spend so much friggin time here because no one in my life aside of my brother can relate what-so-ever to how I feel!

Everyone I know thinks I'm crazy for having 3 of them.
I have friends that don't even check their oil. They don't have sports cars, but still, it kills me how they treat their cars.

I have somewhat-simliar feelings to my cars. The '88 SE and '85 bridgeport GSL. I treat them like my bitches. I demand a lot from them and you need to pamper them like women and they will give it to ya. he he.
