rocker panel patches?
Where can I find patch panels for my rockers on my '85 RX-7? I have a small rust hole on the drivers side right in front of the wheel. I know as soon as I start grinding I will find more rust. Any one done this before?

A-1 imports phone number is 1-800-435-3002
They are located near Homestead (by Amana colonies) on hwy 6. About 15 minutes west of Iowa city. It would be a trip for you but I know they have at least 8 FBs there.

any competent tin-basher can patch that for you. It's just a simple curve in an otherwise flat piece of metal - easy stuff for a bodyman with metal skills.

Thanks for the reply's. I thought I would have to make some panels myself cosidering I couldn't find them anywhere.
Ian, I did fall off the face of the earth for a while. I have been very busy with a new baby expected in the next couple of weeks. My project has gone nowhere so far. My '66 mustang has been the priority for the last couple of months. I was going to sell the mazda but just can't get myself to do it, so I will fix it up.

I will second that.
In fact I'm curious/desparate for skin (body panel "skin" you pervies!) that I'm gonna look myself.
Rear quarter panels, $107 each: http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/P...004629/c-10114
No rocker panels.
But still... rear quarters. These rust out easily. Now, to come up with $214 plus shipping...

FURTHERMORE!
http://www.alfaparts.net/mazda.html sells patch panels, a bit pricey compared to the JC Whitney... BUT they want to make more stuff! Send them samples and they'll reproduce.

JCWhitney has them. I can't find them listed on the website but this is a scan from the current catalog that lists them.
