Replacing front rotor (brakes)...

I did a search but still found the solutions to be of little help.

I'm following the Haynes manual but have run into problems... The torque plate (i believe that's what it is called) has 2 bolts holding the caliper mount and i cannot easily access the bottom bolt because the drag link is in the way. i went out to by 2 different sets of offset box end wrenches but i've had no luck with loosening the bottom bolt. i'm afraid of strippin the bottom bolt so i am here seeking advise

How can i get this bottom bolt off?

ah yes the infamous lower bolt. Its all about the right tool for the job. You need a set of those "s bend" wrenches to get in there. I believe they are also called offset head wrenches. If you don't have one you can also grind the lip of metal that is around that area, this allows you to get a normal wrench in there. Either way its a pain to get out, and can also be quite hard to start when you go to put it backtogether.

Yes, you can also do what you mention in your second post, but thats a lot of work for nothing IMO.

Got a new problem...

Once again, did my search but the solutions aren't working...

The race for the bearings are impossible to take out... I can't even move it with a rubber mallet and a flathead... How much would one of those 'race drivers' cost? what kind of 'race driver' would i need? Is there any other way of removing these races?

How are you trying to get it out? I never had a problem popping them out from the backside with a hammer and a punch or screwdriver.

I used a brass punch and bigass mallet to pound mine out. The special race driver tool is only to install the new ones.
