Removing oil line from engine block
Removing the oil lines from an 81 FB. How do you remove the line that is nearest to the front of the vehicle from the block? Fits a 26mm open ended wrench but no room to actually rotate the wrench. Thinking of crowsfoot and ratchet but don’t have the correct size so want to check before buying tool as may not be enough room around the bolt.
Was suggested that I cut the line just outside of the 26mm hex and use a deep socket but feel cutting so close to the port to the oil sump would send metal shavings in to the block.

Is the goal to replace it? If so, cutting it won't help with installing the new line.
Put a block of wood under the oil pan (2x6) and use a floor jack to support the engine. You can then remove the engine cross member, This will also allow inspection of the engine mounts.

Well, gosh darn it.
Was hoping to avoid that, but do see that it is needed.
When supporting the engine from below, do I need two points of support or one? Need to look at how many other engine mounts there are, and if removing the two at the front does it only leave one at the rear and is the engine likely to tilt or pivot off the jack due to not being triangulated?. The job is already escalating and dont want to be adding more to the work by making a poor assumption!

there's only 2 mounts. the one at the front of the engine and the other is under the trans. just place a jack(bottle, floor, the one from the 7) and short piece of 2x4 under the forward most area of the oil pan, not lifting just supporting. the will hold the engine in place wile u remove the mount.

Update. Crowsfoot worked!
Quick update, and hopefully useful to others replacing oil lines. The crowsfoot wrench and a ratchet worked! No need to support and unbolt engine from mounts. (Really happy to not have to do that as although simple who knows what else I would have screwed up!). It’s still pretty tight in there so just in case crowsfeet have different profiles the one that worked was a 26mm Sunex for 1/2 inch drive.
