Removing the Moldings

Ok so I got the moldings off and I was able to remove all the 2 sided tape and crap.

But what is left is a black stripe in the middle that looks like black glue.......

Any Ideas on how to remove this and or what it is????

Thanks

Jay

I got mine off with goof off and a sharp putty knife. Lots of work but it doesn't screw the paint up if your careful.

Got mine off with a sander and then repainted the car.

You can also freeze it. Try Dry Ice.

Ok UPDATE.......

After trying about a million different products, (Lift Off, Goof Off, Goo Gone, Acetone, Sweat and Tears) I found that the best product was Lift Off...

I used a Dobie (its a kitchen dish scrubbie thing) and the lift off.

I started just using elbow grease but that soon wore out my elbow. So being the rocket scientist that I am I grabbed my electric drill and using a velcro buffing pad I stuck the Dobie to the drill and went to work.....

The Lift Off is in a spray can so I kept spraying while I was buffing with the scrubber......

All said and done I spent about 4 hours to remove one side of it.

But all the paint is still intact.

I will post pics of the trim removed The Targa Band Installed the new Bra Installed and the Rx-8 Shift ****.
