Redline Oil to the Rescue
So this FB I just picked up for a daily driver screamed at me through the transmission on Saturday...it has 208,000+ mileage on it and the input shaft bearings were already making decent noise. But this new sound was even worse...
Being a broke-*** teacher and not wanting to spend $$$, I spent $60.00 today and bought Redline heavy ShockProof synthetic oil for the tranny and diff (which was chattering at low speed turns, as usual). WOW. The tranny shut up a whole lot and the diff no longer chatters. This MAY have saved me a good 4-6+ months of spending on a tranny. I'll keep you guys informed.

I say, "JUNK IT". I have a couple of FB trannies and gears left. Let me know if you need help. It seems that I will some free time in June. Im currently extending my garage so I can have a separate storage area.
So I gues YOU will be the local rotary parts supply house...actually the **** seems fine. The trans had less than recommended oil levels and soup instead of oil...this red **** was pretty gnarly. I'll let you know if it blows up soon.
