Installed a new Magna Flow exhaust but!!!

I installed a magna flow exhaust on my 85 gsl 5 speed. but i think it sounds kinda weak. i did a 2 1/4 cat back exhaust. now i dont have a header yet ( soon to come) but i was thinking of taking off my cats and maiking it straight pipe. what do u guys think. also does anyone have any sound clips of a straight pipe exhaust on thier 7

You wanna know what straight pipes would sound like, check out the vid of my 82 with just a open header first time it started on the new engine. Its freakin LOUD! I would never drive it without a full exhaust and proper mufflers, well mabey not never lol.

Reise, Reise. About time somebody put decent music in their videos! Straight header souds awesome but would definitely want some ear protection for extended use, especially under load

Damn right thats good music lol

Anyway, yeah I have a full exhaust on the car now, that vid is from way back last fall. Done a lot to the car since then. I got a few surprises yet for exhaust work, but its going to sound great when its done.

thanks for the video clips. took my cats off today and straight piped it to the magna flow sounds great and even backfires loud (haha) really opens up on the freeway i link a video later today

The stock exhaust manifold does quite a bit in keep down the exhaust noise levels. Straight piping in place of the cats usually gives a decent note, even on the stock exhaust. Once you instal headers, it will get quite loud and you will be looking for a pre-silencer.
