"Long post" made me avoid it for days, but in the end, I succumbed to the romantic idea of reading a story with a happy ending for once. I am so glad I did. It was even written and composed beautifully. RMD, that is some seriously amazing deductive work and sleuthing that you pulled off. If it wasn't so damn dangerous, I would say you should consider PI work. Or, maybe, bounty hunter and make some $$$... Just don't go to Mexico...

Here's a thought and it sure to upset a lot of people, but it is based on actual experience. If these idjits were already known to the police as thieves and they were still walking around and stealing with no regard to punishment, then it's pretty safe to say they won't be in jail long. If they go at all. There has to be a reason why they're all still in the biz. Here's my point. You know they will be free, anyway. When their lawyer approaches you to try to work out a deal or settlement (and he/she/vulture will....it's amazing what poh foak can do when hard time is involved...), just tell him/her/vulture how much you loved the car, show them the pics of the engine bay, and give him/her/vulture a $$$ number $1500 higher than what it will take to get your car together again with a new paint job. Tell him/her/vulture the number is non-negotiable because you have them dead-to-rights and you'd just as soon see them in prison getting bent by gay inmates as getting that $$$ number. They will get the money together. Never, ever again go into that area and get the car painted differently so it can't be pegged by the fools since they will most assuredly be gunning for you again.....and ditch the Honda emblems ASAP....it has to blend now til these jacka$$es are finished licking their wounds.

Remember, they're gonna get out, one way or another. Keep that in mind when the vulture shows up....

Well, heres a picture of what the interior kinda looks like overall now that Ive pieced it back together...

I have the ignition column surround, surprisingly still in one piece (minus one SMALL piece by a screw hole), its just not on because it would have to come off to remove the ignition switch eventually anyway. I cant remember if you can see it in the pictures or not, but Im missing the lower dash piece around the choke ****, and I have the other half of the E-brake handle, its just not on because it needed some glue, but it will be fine . I do however need the rear carpet that hangs over the hatch latch and also the plastic piece that hold the cargo light. New inner fender covers would be nice as they cracked and broke these looking for speakers, but they at least look ok for now.

So, here are a few pictures .

So, recapping, I would eventually like to find:

Rear hatch carpet with plastic piece for latch cover and cargo light
Inner fender covers
lower dash piece by choke ****
stereo surround
passenger side storage bin

And I think thats about it...Not too bad really .

If you want, I can get some of the parts you need of the 83 and sell them to you cheap.. only problem is shipping....

well tell me what you think

Well, as much as I appreciate it, Im not in a hurry to get it back together. I was just trying to sort what I had, and clean it up somewhat (get rid of all the glass). I have plans to sue, and try and get some money. If I do, thats great, if not no biggie, it will just take longer to realise my dreams.

As of right now, I plan to fix the body, then paint it since theres no engine in it so I can easily get to the bay. Then, Im going to drop a 13BT in there, and finish the interior off the way I want it.

Yeah!!!

TJ,

I had a feeling I would be seeing a post that you found Lucky. Way to go finding these puss fu---ers that exist by stealing others property.

Don't know about your laws in WA but in TX it's very hard to get blood from a rock, personal residences are off limits. Good Luck anyways.

I really didn't think these cars were worth stealing but then again people kill for $20 nowadays.

Finish up your detective work by scanning E-bay and any local used part houses. See if the cops can find some receipts or something in the house--never know what may be found. You may be able to get some of the stuff back from them if they still have it. Even though they paid for it, it is still YOUR property.
Potentially could add to the line of cases against these people.

Really need to commend you on your cool attitude.

Scott

Yeah, well once again, thanks for the compliments guys . Ive said it before, and Ill say it again, I want a 13BT for it now .

Whadya think of the license plate "LKY13BT" as in Lucky 13BT, because Lucky is her name, 13 isnt lucky (because I seem to have lots of bad luck with her), yet it will have a 13BT...

13 is an unlucky number if you think so....i've had some good luck with 13 =D

good job on recovering your own car...it's unfortunate that you can't rely on cops to look for your car, but i guess it's understandable.

i guess you can consider yourself lucky that the fishermen were there to give you leads and the type of area your car was in helped you find the culprits.

i actually thought your car was going to be impossible to recover from looking at the overhead photograph, but i guess being in a rural (correct me if i'm wrong) community sure helped a lot since you really don't have a lot to have to sift through.

kinda reminds me of that FD that was recovered in the same state not more than a year ago. nice work.

btw...were you allowed to walk up to them and take "mug shots?" or like take pictures of them in the back of the patrol cars? i'd use those pictures and post flyers humiliating them throughout the community

At first I thought burning their house down would settle the score. Only problem there is (besides the legalities involved) a) it might not even be their house, they probably rent, b) If you do that they'll have to move. Then we won't know where to look if (when) another 7 goes missing, and c) There are better and shadier ways to get even:
Hire an aids/ herpes/ syphilis-infected hooker to invite herself to one of their bonfire sessions and **** their brains out. Desperate losers like them rarely get laid (except maybe by the bimbo who was with them the night of the theft) so they'll fall hook, line, and sinker. The only one they're likely to pass it onto is each other so the rest of society is not at risk.
If they're still in custody, why not go over to their place and clean out everything of value? The pawn shops will give you a few bucks for their stuff, and they're not likely to gain much sympathy from the cops if and when they report the B&E.
Finally, please post their address and photos on this forum so that everyone in your area can look there first if their car goes missing. A bunch of you could even go over to their place one night (out-number the ******, bring weapons) and tell them that since you like them so much you're going to let them live---- for now. Instead of killing them, you're appointing them as neighborhood watchdogs. If any of your cars go missing you'll assume that they're behind it and come down on them like an anvil and take their scalps like a band of ******* apaches. The word will then get out to their partners in crime that rx7's are off-limits.

Yes I'm a sick, vengeful bastard. But it works for me...

TJ, I've heard u say before that you want to be a cop, and with this kind of detective work go for it! That way when some dumbass steals my car there would be a cop that cares!

I need to get into the acadamy, but what do I need to do to be accepeted? Hell, Im not even old enough to apply yet, but I have 2 years to get ready...Anyone by chance know what I can do to try and become a cop?

TJ.

If you want a GSL hatch glass (presuming you might still have the wiper), let me know. Pay for shipping and I'll send it along whenever you'd like.
